My top 5 favorite memories of my mom:
1. Doing my hair. My mom has always loved playing and fixing my hair; from Dip-a-di-do and pink foam curlers when I little to curls and fancy up dos for prom, my mom loves to play with my hair.
2. Scratching my back. My mom has the best strong thick finger nails for back scratching. A back scratch will have you to sleep in 5 minutes flat.
3. Swimming. Being a water baby was something I inherited from my dad and mom. She loves to swim. I remember swimming with her at my Grandma Auntie Greet's, paddling around at the creek, snorkeling in Belize and everywhere in between.
4. Cooking. If you know my mom then you know the pleasure it brings her to cook for others. It doesn't matter how large or small the guest list is, she will always provide more than enough of her teats. She knows all the great tricks for making any dish a super one.
5. Too hot to sleep nights. Sometimes in the summer we would find ourselves awake at 1 am because it was too hot to sleep and we would meet in the kitchen for a midnight snack and a lot of late night giggles. My sister would join in the fun too and we would have a good ol' time.
Like all mother daughter relationship we have had our good times and bad times. But my mom is a great one and couldn't love me more, and really what more could a girl ask for than a mom who loves her the way my mom loves me.
